Several studies have reported how the presence of contextual letter-sound conversion rules influences both reading speed and accuracy and the effect of rule complexity holds for low frequency words only. We aimed to investigate the role of orthography complexity and, in particular, of context sensitive graphemes position and frequency of use on reading speed, analyzing the performance of developmental dyslexics and fluent readers. Repeated reading of infrequent syllables has been shown to increase reading speed at the word level in a transparent orthography. This study confirms these results with a computer-based training method and extends them by comparing the training effects of short syllables and long frequent and infrequent syllables, controlling for rapid automatized naming. Our results, based on a sample of 150 poor readers of Finnish, showed clear gains in reading speed regarding all trained syllables, but a transfer effect to the word level was evident only in the case of long infrequent syllables. Fiksācijas disparitāte un konverģences nepietiekamība.

Maģistra darbs ir uzrakstīts angļu valodā uz 47 lapām, tas satur 19 attēlus, 14 tabulas un 51 atsauci uz literatūras avotiem. Mērķis bija novērtēt fiksācijas disparitātes saistību ar konverģences nepietiekamību. Pētījumam bija divas daļas: 1. grupā bija 5 dalībnieki ar konverģences nepietiekamību, kas veica 12 nedēļu ilgu redzes terapiju, lai izvērtētu tās ietekmi uz binokulārajām funkcijām, lasīšanas ātrumu, CISS vērtējumu un fiksācijas disparitāti; 2. grupā bija 51 dalībnieks, kuri aizpildīja CISS aptauju un veica fiksācijas disparitātes mērījumus, lai izvērtētu šo divu parametru saistību. Mūsdienās ir nepieciešama efektīva lasīšanas izpratne un ātrums, lai atrastu atbilstošu un patiesu informāciju, piemēram, laikrakstos, transporta grafikos un citos rakstveida avotos. Diplomdarba mērķis bija izpētīt, kā video materiālu ar angļu subtitriem pielietošana var palielināt lasīšanas ātrumu un izpratni 11. klasē. Pētījuma metode bija gadījuma pētījums ar 12 skolēnu izlasi. Datu vākšanas gaitā tika veikti skolēnu lasīšanas ātruma un izpratnes mērījumi, ievāktas atgriezeniskās saites anketas un veiktas daļēji strukturētas intervijas ar divām skolotājām. Pētījuma rezultātā tika atklāts, ka nedaudz paaugstinājās lasīšanas ātrums, bet pazeminājās teksta izpratne. Šajā gadījumā video mate…
